The G12 is in the top tier of compact cameras. It pays to be aware, however, that the term ‘compact’ refers to the category of digital camera rather than as a reference to its size. This is not a pocket camera, but it is portable.

The G12 is really suited to someone who is interested enough in their picture results to want to override the automatic settings. The G12 has buttons for commonly adjusted settings such as exposure compensation and ISO. Like DSLR’s, it offers you the option to shoot in full or semi manual mode and in the uncompressed file format RAW for greater flexibility post processing in software like Photoshop.

• Adjustable LCD
• Hot shoe for an Accessory Flash.

A viewfinder is a very common request from our customers. Framing a picture in bright sunlight on the LCD can be hard to see and having a viewfinder can be the difference in getting your shot as you want it or shooting blind. However, the adjustable LCD also allows you to manipulate the screen away from the sun but still point the camera where you want – the best of both worlds. Adjusting the LCD can also open up some interesting creative angles as well, especially in gaining unique perspectives.
